General

Hey, I'm Evan, born in '04, and I hate introductions.

I have a few too many hobbies and passions. My hobbies consist of a mix of arts, for example reading, writing, drawing, 3D modeling, building and painting physical models, etc. I also enjoy music and instruments, and I'm attempting to learn piano. I would love to learn a string instrument, like ukulele, guitar, or cello. I love the rich sounds of acoustic pianos and the cello. Furthermore, I enjoy tech, hosting servers on a second PC in my room, which is how I run this site. One day I would love to migrate my server to a hybrid NAS/DAS setup, but I don't currently have the money for that. I currently use a free domain from DynuDNS, but eventually I'll get a paid one. I collect old hardware and salvage anything modern that I can, to use at a later time, and try to salvage anything I could possibly use for my arduino kit. Outside of that, I also have an interest in medical things. I read too much into the things that affect me, and it ends up branching out to things that don't. Either way, I love learning about medical disorders.
I'm back in classes to get my GED! Decided I may as well suck up my fears and do it, I'll give me much needed independance, once I graduate and can get a job. Though I may enter college or university after I graduate. I'd likely stick with Holmes Community College, as they're the ones who are helping me get my GED. If I were to go to college or university, I'd probably go in for computer science because I quite enjoy attempting to solve hardware and software issues in PCs, and hardware issues in consoles. I also would love to learn how to write my own operating system from scratch, not using any current code or tools to make it easier, for example, not using the linux kernel. I quite enjoy the thought of low level coding, where I can control every aspect, and make the hardware do exactly what I want. If I can't get in for computer science, I'd probably try for servers and networking, I've had a blast getting this old PC running as a server and giving it new life in hosting servers.
I'm the type of person who doesn't enjoy wasting old hardware or tools. Call me a hoarder, but if it's up to me, it would never get thrown out. I would probably take it apart and try to learn how it works, and scrap it to repair other devices if need be. I have random SODIMM RAM in a drawer, with a SATA M.2 SSD I can't even use, as my motherboard doesn't support SATA M.2. I also tend to collect old things, and current hardware will be old one day, so I make sure to keep it as well. I currently have a small old hardware collection, old being early 2000s and older. The newest device in my old hardware collection is my Nintendo DS Lite, released in 2006. The oldest has to be my TI99-4a, which was released in 1981, with a very close second being my Commodore 64, released in 1982. They all still work, which I LOVE. One day I may attempt making games for them...
Speaking of games! I plan to eventually learn C/C++ for game development and porting new games to old consoles, eg porting modern PC games to DS Lite, if I can learn enough about the DS and coding. I also would love to make useful and helpful apps for different things. I'd love to make a FitBit PC app, since they discontinued the official one. Would teach me a lot about APIs and how to acces them. Also would love to make neural networks and AI. But not generative AI. I hate generative AI.
In conclusion, I have a lot of aspirations, a lot of hobbies, a lot I could do. I have too much on my plate, and I feel like I don't have enough time to do it all. But theres only one way to find out. Stick to something, and just do it. Alas, I have ADHD, and very likely autism. While I can hyperfocus on things, usually it only lasts a day or two, and it's not even one of my hobbies, then I burn out. So.. wish me luck. I need it.
